This project was a renovation and a pair of small additions to a mid-century modern ranch house in South Boulder. The new second-story contains a Master Bedroom suite and its stair tower pairs with a new entry tower to add vertical interest to the project.
This project consists of the complete renovation of a historic older house built in 1905 and a new addition and new accessory building. The project was taken through the City of Boulder’s Landmark process and strikes a balance between new and old, modern and historic.
This project is a complete re-conceptualizing of an existing 1960’s ranch house, located along the western edge of Martin Park in South Boulder. The central buff sandstone-clad section houses the main living spaces and the new second-story bedrooms are tucked into new “sleeping porches”. This project uses simple, vernacular buiding forms combined to create a larger house that still sits comfortably with its smaller neighbors.
